First post here in a while so you know im desperate 😂 Tried to gain information on the facebook groups but as im sure your aware there are many arm chair mechanics who like to comment porsche protocols with little experience on the subject so im hoping fellow enthusiasts have the answers.
Ive recently removed my gearbox as the clutch was slipping, car is on 90 odd thousand miles so its to be expected, Now unfortunately upon inspection my flywheel is toast.
Im reluctant to replace with another dual mass flywheel as there are lightened flywheels out there for cheaper or comparable prices as a full stock clutch kit with dmf
My problem being is that id much prefer to run a sprung clutch over the stock 3.2s ridged clutch. This is where my problem begins, the only sachs spring clutch i can find is a “performance/upgraded” unit and costs the same price as the flywheel without a pressure plate which is Ludacris!
There seems to be alot more options for a sprung clutches on the 2.5/2.7 (5speed) models than there is for my 3.2s (6speed) during my research ive found a pelican parts thread which states a 2006 Audi TT clutch will fit with a LWFW as it is sprung as standard. Has anyone tried this and has first hand experience?
Im aware of the potential downfalls of a LWFW so dont want to turn this topic into an argument about harmonic balancers and the like, its a cheap car and I just want to free up some revs as a bonus to maintenance
Here is the current aasco flywheel im looking at as it has replaceable wear rings for future maintenance (p.s im from the uk so it isnt practical to order direct from them and i cannot find a complete kit in the uk)

this is the part number for the friction disc 881861999856 but when i search for one it comes back as a 993/964/996 gt3/997 gt2 part number as listed below

now heres my question, i dont need a sachs “performance” clutch and pressure plate for my 250bhp boxster, im more than happy with a just accepting the gains from a LWFW
Would I be ok to source a stock 997 gt2 clutch and stock 986 pressure plate to go along with this fly wheel? would a 997 pressure plate work also so i can buy an off the shelf 997 turbo clutch kit like below to save some money?

doing it this way keeps the clutch under £1000 rather than buying a kit for £1500+
ive also read that a 2006 audi tt clutch will work on a pelican parts guide, any proof to this?
