Gilles Registered User Join Date: Dec 2009 Location: Orange County, CA Posts: 1,993	Since that red heavy gauge cable is next the alternator, I would bet that it is the alternator cable, you should disconnect the battery to avoid shortening that cable until you connect it where it goes.
