Oil filter inspection advice needed

Hi,

Did an oil change (1st one since having the car for a month now) and found some 'things' in the oil filter ...

Engine is 2002 2.7 with 160k kilometers on it. Flushed the engine with an engine flush (left idling for 20 minutes) right before oil change. Most parts are plasticy (some deteriorate when rubbing between fingers) and there is one, non magnetic piece of metal (gold-ish color)

What do you think .. been planning on changing the IMS anyway since I have no knowledge if it's ever been done.

You are at the mileage where I'm pretty sure the source of your plastic is your cam chain tensioner wear pads. I've had a couple of M96s apart, one of indeterminate mileage and the other of 106,000 miles and both sets of pads were trashed.

I concur for the cam chain tensioner pads, the brown plastic. I would drop the oil pan to see if there are more metal bits.
