Seriously, doing PPIs cost me tons of money. How so? Summer before last I sent deposits on 3 different 1967 Ferrari 330GTCs. They ranged in price from $95K to $118K. All 3 failed the PPIs, so I didn't buy. They are all now worth $180k to $225K, so ~$100k lost opportunity.
