Will Boxster 986 instrument cluster shroud fit 996 dash

Hello everyone,
I'm upgrading my interior to have 996 interior (yay for glove box!) and one of the things I was wondering was if my stock 986 instrument cluster shroud (the thing that goes on top of the gauge cluster) fits on the 996 dash?

I am still using my stock 986 gauges, which don't have voltage and oil pressure on the sides, and don't want the sides to be blank if i'm switching to the 996 shroud - so I'd like to keep my 986 cluster shroud if possible.

Thanks in advance!

Sounds like you have the shroud off. Check the serial #. If it's a 996 # you're golden. If 986, then probably not.

They are different. The 996 shroud (which is arriving) is a difference piece than the 986 shroud. The Boxster shroud allows light through, while the 996 shroud is solid.

Once they arrive, I will try them on and report back here.
