The shop that we use sent our Boxster to a euro transmission shop to diagnose the limp mode codes in our tiptronic. After finally getting the transmission to go into limp mode, they called a Porsche master mechanic. The transmission was rebuilt with all new components but still going in limp mode. Replaced the shifter microswitch, another transmission microswitch, etc. Now, the master mechanic tells the trans shop that it's probably the ignition switch. It could be sending false signals to the TCU cause it to trip. I've heard the ignition switch can cause havoc with lighting issues but never heard this one. Has anyone else heard this? Still trying to get a fix on the limp mode problem.
Thanks.
