fuel injector issue

So I’ve got obd2 code 1241, fuel injector, cylinder 5, open circuit. I get the FI #5 part. What’s “open circuit “ ??? Is it the FI or the wiring? If I swap in another injector, problem solved??

Wiring issue, the injectors themselves rarely fail electrically. Correct diagnostic would be to check the questionable injectors electrical pulse width against those working normally.

#5 wiring is subject to mechanical wear where the injector connector plugs into the injector; have a look there for damage.

Thanks for the replies. I fiddled around with the #5 connection over and over, no change. Then I hooked up the durametric and stopped each injector individually.... Turns out #3 was disconnected. God only knows why the code was for #5.
FYI 2000 3.4 in a 2000 986
