Sport clutch transaxle connection

I have a 2.5 with Aasco flywheel and used OEM clutch until failure. Replacing with Sachs sport clutch and pressure plate. Problem is I cannot mate engine and transaxle together without binding starter. Removed and installed 5-6 times now, and each time same result. Starter won’t work, sounds dead. But if I remove transaxle or even loosen it, starter works just fine. Looking for advice on which direction to go.
