AC/heater Blower Fan Issue

Yesterday my AC/heater blower on my 2000 986 stopped working. All lights work, buttons light up and everything appears normal, but no blower/air coming from the vents in either AC or heater mode. Looked at all of the fuses in the main box, and all are good. So my questions are as follows:

1. Is there a resistor in the line before the blower?
2. Can this be an ignition problem rather than a blower motor issue?
3. How hard is it to replace the blower motor in the 986?
4. How do I test the blower motor and/or the resistor?

Any advice would be greatly appreciated!
