Drain oil to change rear main?

Do I have to drain the oil to change the rear main seal?

Thanks

The oil level is at the top of the IMS when filled to MAX so if you only service the RMS you should not experience oil leaking out. If you raise the rear end of the car the level will be even lower.

Thanks Homeo, really enjoyed your rebuild thread. I figured common sense says you aren’t supposed to have oil splashing around the big ends of the rods but thought I’d double check
