Anybody knows what this is?

Hi All,

I need a little help here. I can`t find out what goes into that hole on the top of the engine (2.5 1999 base). It`s right next to the oil level sensor and it has an internal thread, looks like 8mm. I looked through all the pictures from the tear down and found out that aluminum spacer was fitted in there (second picture), so I assume it just fell off when I turned the engine upside down. So whatever it was, wasn`t bolted down. I looked at the parts diagram and can`t seem to find anything like this on any of the drawings.

Any ideas about what else comes here and what is it for?

Thanks!
