A liile different circumstance. My rear spoiler with John Toth ducktail is pinned to the up position. I removed the motor and transmission assembly so I can only move it up and down manually. Can't conceive any way leaving it up would be unsafe; you'll have a bit more drag until you reach the speed where it would have raised automatically. My light comes on when the circuit senses the spoiler didn't properly raise because I don't have any switches to tell the circuit where the spoiler is. The light resets when I turn the vehicle off and I'll disable the light when I can get my hands on a Durameteric.
