I had a torn inner boot last year. After a lot of analysis I decided to buy a new Porsche transaxle. My other viable option was to rebuild. Having done this in the past with one of my 944s I just did not feel like dealing with it. I did not find a suitable non-OEM replacement. I think I posted some info on my replacement in the tech forum.
