Oh dont worry, it will be perfect before she gets it.
I dont think that a couple items like springs and a needing a wheel qualifies it as a piece of ****************. Already had a shop look over all the suspension and the springs were the only thing suspect. Just wait till you see the finished product in a couple weeks and let me know if you still think its a piece of ****************. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |
BTW, drives perfect and rides amazing till 60-70 mph, probably because of the alignment so far out due to being so low.

Update, everything checked out ok except for one of the rear struts was busted and leaking. So while I am getting all 4 factory springs replaced throwing 2 new struts on the rear, getting an alignment, and should take care of the symptoms and ride like new again soon!

Might as well get 4 new struts.

Well a little update, the piece of **************** lives! factory springs and new struts on the rear. Drives like a dream now. Fishtailing gone, must have been the busted rear strut.
My indy thought the springs were chopped but they actually used lowering springs. They could not do the front struts due to a stuck caliper bolt. They were afraid of breaking it off and they wont do repairs with a helicoil or other to fix it if they did break it. Right size rear wheel on now. Will have to address the front struts later, but amazingly still sits pretty level now and looks normal again. At firestone now for an alignment, got a lifetime alignment package for it which is a great deal for unlimited alignments for as long as I own the car. Already detailed interior, swapped out all interior and trunk lights with led bulbs. Tinted windows, new projector headlights getting ready to go in, and paint correction coming next. Motul oil change coming and complete updated sound system after christmas. Paint is in amazing condition for age, so should turn out great. Hold tight for updated pics, wont be the same car when I am done! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

Yes the white background is perfect for a rolling headlight display. |
Well she loved it. 67 degrees Christmas eve helped! She loves to drive it in a “spirited” manner! Going to be a ton of fun, and she is already looking forward to the stereo upgrade. Thanks for the help!https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/201...7824372c43.jpg

I bet she was floored! What a great surprise!
In 1999 I did something similar for for my now ex-wife. Bought an 89 535i off eBay... had it shipped to my mechanic... gave him $10K and told him to make it run and look great. He didn't disappoint. The last gift over Christmas dinner was a little box that held the key connected to the 5 Series keychain. As soon as she opened it asking, "What does this 5 mean" the three kids literally jumped out of their chairs knowing exactly what it meant, lol. The driveway held the clue. I believe having a new, used whatever, car in the driveway for a loved one is an awesome gift. By the way... the white windscreens look great! I'm now considering painting mine to match. Welcome to the forum! See you around! |
