02 Boxster with Boxster S muffler?

I just removed the rear two catalylic converters and installed a Boxster S exhaust, Does anyone have any idea if this was good or bad? And what increases in performance I may have gained on a 2.7?

Any help would be appreciated,
Thanks,

Jose'

I dont think you gain much HP,just .5 of 1 pony I beleive. I think its done as a cosmetic and tone thing.

does it give it more throaty tone? I want it to sound like a Porsche should. I've noticed some guys on ebay clean these mufflers out and then they are at about 105db, which sounds very nice. I just dont know what they do to them.

Initially, I could tell that its sounds better at all mid to high RPM's and I think that it helps out on the performance as well. Not to mention each one of those cats weighs about 20 lbs.

Putting on the boxster s exhaust did nothing for sound or hp. It is exactly the same as the base muffler with a different tip. The reason the "S" has a deeper sound has nothing to do with the muffler, but rather the larger displacement of the engine. People "gut" the muffler to get a louder sound. This basically means they cut it open and cut some pipes/baffles to allow a louder sound although it does not offer more hp.
