RoW 030/Suspension change,DIY?
Who here on the board has done this? More specifically the RoW 030 kit?
Here is a guide for changing the suspension if anyone is curious. http://gwl.rmsolo.org/hacks/suspension/index.html I have talked to enough people to convince me that this will be my first "performance mod". All quotes I have gotten for parts were around $925(Sunset) - $1025(Suncoast). Not too much for new springs, shocks, swaybars and bushings. Anyone know of a lower price? Anyone know where I can find a Stahl Wille SF12623 Two Stage Tie Rod Tool? Has anyone attempted to do this and then backed out because they were frustrated? I'm thinking that this could be a Christmas present to myself. Why Christmas you ask? My dad is off Christmas week and can assist me in the install. I also have another car that I can drive,so its not like I necassarily need to do this in 1 or 2 days. |
Hey Blink:
Have you read this post: http://986forum.com/forums/boxster-general-discussions/6906-m030-comprehensive-write-up.html |
Yes I have read it and I have also talked to TriGem2k,who has switched out his suspension on his own as well. Neither said it was too bad, just take your time and be patient. I'm just looking to make sure that there isn't any missing info anywhere that I should know of.
Where I can find a Stahl Wille SF12623 Two Stage Tie Rod Tool? How much am I looking to spend on a spring compressor? Anyone know of a lowere price for the kit? |
Hey Blink, You can rent most of the tools from PepBoys and such. They have spring compressors and pretty much everything else you would need for rent...
