That very much reminds me of the kinds of troubles I run into. Details... Just when you think you put the last screw in, you have to take them all back out again. I really don't know the answer for you, but my guess is that the 987.1 MAF is the one that you are going to want. Have a beer then a coffee (works for me). ...or maybe just another beer.

Yeah, me too. If it were me, I'd go back to the original housing and MAFF. I hate butchering wires and if you can't find the stuff to make an adapter, that's what you'll end up doing.

For me it's bad enough when a retaining clip breaks.:ah:

Hey man nice videos......I haven't looked at this stuff in years and my memory is fading ....can you back things up and get the appropriate 987 MAF harness and plug/splice that in higher up in the harness? Consider whether a 987.1 housing will give you a direct plug and play (perhaps with the use of the 986 MAF sensor) rather than splicing.

Can the original 986 sensor be fitted to the 987 housing? I honestly can't remember which option ends up working for the car. I think it also depends upon which tune you will run: 996 ROW or 986.2 SE
