torque specs for veriocam and caps

What is the correct torque for the cam shaft caps and the veriocam on 2000 boxster s? Is it 10FT lbs?

For the cam covers it's 10 ft #, there's a specific order that with a little looking you can find on one of the Pelican do it yourself online articles. As for the variocam, are you asking about the solenoid? I replaced one of mine yesterday tightened it to snug and then took it another 90 degrees.

yes the solenoid and cam shaft caps. I tightened them to 10 ft lbs and one of the cap bolts stretched and almost broke.

I was able to get the torque spec from a dealer and they both are 10nm or 7.4 ft lbs for anyone else that does this job.

Oh, ouch. 2.5 Ft lbs doesn't sound like much, but that's significantly over torqued for those little bolts.

I lucked out. Only cost me $3.50 and a little time. Could have been much worse.
