It's 29 ft-lb and not inch-pounds for the M8 bolts from the cars up to about 2003, you probably did use that setting and just made a typo in your post.

When I did mine I used loctite and also cleaned out the threads as best I could with brake cleaner and paper towels before putting it together, and I used the oil resistant medium (243 I think)

For the nuts, when I put my new suspension in I used new Porsche nuts, but since then I have had it on and off and still reusing the nuts, with loctite.
