Complete suspension replacement
I'm going to replace my entire suspension. At 15 years old and over 140,000 miles I want to replace everything.
Driving over a rough road the car sounds like a tin can filled with loose rocks. The rear tires are also wearing out fast and unevenly.
The car is a daily driver.
I'm thinking Bilstein B6.
Also - if anyone has a list of all of the parts that should be replaced I'd appreciate it so I don't end up missing something.
Thoughts?

I’m doing the same thing right now on my 97 with over 234k miles. Bilstein B8 struts, H&R springs, drop links, shock mounts, snubbers, dust boots, strut bearings, and rear tuning forks. DIY except alignment which will be done by my independent shop(ProTech Motorsports).

I️ am doing the same on my 98 w/102K miles. What is the consensus on replacing inner tie rods?

Don't forget your bushings. I think from the factory you can only get the sta-bar bushings, but there are poly bushings from https://powerflexusa.com/boxster1997-2004.aspx if you want to go that route. Will make your car more responsive and might be a bit cheaper than getting new links. However, it does involve some really annoying DIY
Also remember the motor and tranny mounts

First off, thanks for all the responses. But then again, hey all you 986 suspension gurus, please weigh in! I'm going for a complete suspension retrofit and need your help! If you were going to replace EVERYTHING that needed to be replaced to improve handling after 140K miles, what would you do?

Yes, I agree with Brad, your fronts probably have cracks, mine did after around 110,000, my backs didn't but I think they had been previously replaced. Lemforder makes a front, but I only ever going oem.porsche for the back.
The front tuning fork arms are hard to find, but they are a match to 997 rear track arms, I discovered this on the Meyle website on the page for their arms. It matches 986 front, 996 all 4 corners, 997 rear.
