Agreed. My understanding is that for M96 engines under 80K miles 0W-40 is recommended. After that, and in hot climates, 5W-40 is the way to go.

I believe Mobil 1 5W-30 is recommended for diesel engines, so I would stay away from that formula. I could be wrong, but this philosophy has served me well for many years.
