PS- NO on the 10W-60 oil. Only Castrol makes this and it is really not suited for your Boxster.

I took Brucelee's advice when I first bought my Boxster. I change the oil at 7500 and I use the Mobil 1 Gold Cap. I live in the desert and this weight works just fine...the Stealership in Phoenix uses the same one and it reaches 120 degrees in the summer.

Man, that is hot. Sounds like our desert out here, Palm Springs etc.

Yes, in that climate, I would not run anything but a 15W-50 in that car.

In New York you should use 0w40 like Porsche says.
