I need spacer recommendations, please.
I've poked around, but as far as I can tell nobody else has done these wheels on a Boxster. I'm trying to get a retro kind of look, and I've settled on 16" 928 manholes. I have them on the car and I like the look. I'm getting some rubbing up front in tight turning, but otherwise no clearance issues. I'd like to push them out, though:
http://986forum.com/forums/uploads02...1496322381.jpg If I've Googled correctly, the stock wheels on a '99 are: 6J X 16 @ 50 mm (front) 7J X 16 @ 40 mm (rear) And 928 manholes are: 7 X 16 @ 65 mm (all) If I did my math correctly, I need 25mm spacers at the rear and 15mm at the front. And, looking at them on the car, that seems about right. These are for street driving only. I'm going to pick up a set of 17s for track days. So, here are my questions:
Thanks in advance! |

Nice tool. It took me 20 minutes of clicking to figure out what it was telling me, but I got it eventually.
Thanks for the input! You're in the footprint of my PCA region, are you in the club? |
Maybe it's because of the green car, but I like the 928 look on this car. Really needs those spacers though!

Got them a couple days ago and they went on easily. No more rubbing in the wheel wells and they look a lot better!http://986forum.com/forums/uploads02...1497014274.jpg

One question, did you order as well longer wheel bolts, to compensate the spacers..? |
Yes, I did. I ordered complete kits from Amazon.

Did you put 25mm flat spacers on with long lug bolts? I wouldn't think that to be a long term solution. To use that much spacer you need those with their own lugs and lug nuts. Even that causes more wear to wheel bearings, but flat spacers of that size might be considerably worse. I run 25mm spacers on mine but only with my winter wheels, which don't get as much wear.

If you wanted retro, the look of the rear wheels in your first (pre-spacer) pic has a very 356 vibe.
