Admittedly, the switch sound dubious and I would have assumed it's the ignitor, grounding, or other. However, your syptoms are similar to those solved with the replacement of the switch (see below).

Oh - also it really helps if you can list your car's year and other information when posting a "need help" type question. Just helps eliminate sometimes having to ask the question later. Put it in your "signature".
