Aftermarket Keyless Entry

So I replaced the carpet in my car yesterday, and when I had the seats out, I noticed a second box beside the immobilizer. I'm assuming this is part of the aftermarket keyless entry that the PO installed? As well as the box that says "shock sensor"? I plan to remove it all as it appears to have been sloppily installed, and I'm currently experiencing lock issues on the passenger side, which may or may not be related.

I'd do something to protect the immobilizer while you're there. The M531 is hard to come by

What's the difference between the M531 and the M535? Do you recommend the ECU Doctors' waterproof case?

531 is Anti-drive-off feature, central locking system
535 is Alarm 315 MHz

My 97 also has 531, basically it means you have central locking but no alarm system and no key remote. So I installed a similar aftermarket system to what you have there that provides both an alarm and remote central locking. The "sock sensor" (ha) detects sudden shocks and sets off the alarm if the car is bumped when it's armed.

Thanks for the info!

I'm going to get another keyless entry system. I dislike the one that was installed, and whoever did it, did a shoddy job.
