Speedo & climate control lighting

I've seen the odd photo here and there of people putting different LED's in the speedo and climate control unit. Which LED's are needed for this?

I know there's a company that you can buy the kits from but I refuse to pay $30+ dollars (or $7 a bulb!) when they're about £0.50 on ebay each, if you know the ones to get. Trouble is, I don't know which ones. Are they NeoWedges?

Thanks!

Nevermind, found them.

Faces & Gauge Needles: B8.4 1.5W Bulbs
Warning lights: 286 1.2W Bulbs
IndicatorsW3W 3W bulb (in a cap)

The switches and ambient lights in the cabin are either B8.4's or 286's. I'll have to find out. But for the meantime, there we are - no need to fork out ridiculous money.

I know it's not what you want to hear, but I'd stick with sportcarleds.com for the twist lock LED bulbs as the eBay bulbs are of varying quality. I bought some of the cheap ones for my daily driver last year and they started acting up after only a couple hours of use. The bulbs from sportcarleds have been in my 986 for years with no issues.

Same for the surface mount diodes for the switches and climate control. Order from a reputable electronics supplier like mouser.com. There is a link in one of my threads...

Hmm, probably a good shout that.

Which bulbs are used in the switches and climate control anyway, out of curiosity?
