Dipped lights to come on with full beam

I've just installed bi-xenon projectors, they have a shield that lowers to flick the light up when you use the high beam.

Works a charm. Thing is, if your dipped beams aren't already on, then flashing the high beams doesn't do anything as the dipped beams don't turn on.

How can I make the dipped beams come on with the high beams?

Thanks!

In the era and universally for German cars, a halogen bulb is used for flashers because an HID bulb won't achieve full brightness quickly enough.

Thank you! Would I need the high beam bulb if I'm doing that though? As that was the point of it, so that I don't need the extra high beam bulb

You can't flash the HID bulb, so yes. The bulb is tucked under the projector and not really visible, anyway.

The relay, as wired above, will make it so that when you pull back on the stalk with the headlights off, the halogen bulb is used. When the headlights are on, the HID high beam solenoid is used.
They are never on at the same time and the halogen bulb is used for daytime flashing only.

OHH!! That's a quality idea. Is that just a usual normally open relay?

Thanks for the diagram, will 100% make this.

My only concern now is that I've sprayed my reflector matt black, so I'll just have to find out how bright the bulbs are for flashing.

It's a standard 5 pin changeover relay, not a 4 pin.

That black reflector could be a problem. On installs with black reflectors, I have used LED bulbs with a lot of forward output as a compromise. They are definitely brighter than halogen in a black reflector.

Something like this with an LED and small lens on the top of the bulb (front facing).

Just found Cree H7's for quite cheap - they'd be the ones to get, with the projector on top as you said. Thanks for all the help
