Convertible top close but doesn't stop in normal position and light stays on

Good afternoon everyone,

So I decided to take the Porsche out to Costco with the wife this morning and because it was such a beautiful day I put the top down, when we arrived at Costco, I went to put the top up and it did go up but it didn't stop where it normally does it kept going till the point where it closed and slightly opened again from being tighten so much..... so I opened it again and when the top went down it stopped in its normal position and light went off, but going back up it doesn't stop in the normal position it does close , but the light stays on and I have to gauge where the close position is !!!

i would start by looking at the microswitch located on the driver side main bow.
part 6 in the diagram, and the arrow is pointing to its location on the top.

part number is 98661310102.

test the microswitch before you replace it.

How do I test it?

The top goes down and stops where it should, it's when it goes up it doesn't stop in the correct position

you will need to physically test the switch.
first, you will have to find it unfortunately not an easy task.
locate the wires coming out of the switch, and follow it to the connector.
disconnect the switch from the connector, and put a voltmeter between the two wires.
set the voltmeter to the buzzer position, and press/release the switch with your finger.
the peeping from the voltmeter should turn on/off accordingly.
if it doesn't beep at all, or it beeps at all time, then it means the switch is bad, and needs to be replaced.
im almost positive that is your issue, but i wouldn't throw a $80 part without testing it first. (yes that's what this sucker cost)
if the switch will test to be fine, then we need to get into all the adjustment procedure.
