So the 2.7 is greatly restricted by the intake manifold. In my case I am using a 2000 2.7 motor in a CUSTOM car. I don't have any space limitations on top or sides of the engine bay.

(1) That being the case, can I just straight bolt on a 996 intake/spacer manifold with its plenum and throttle body?

(2) Am I limited to using the 986 maf?

(3) Got tons of room for any airbox. What would you recommend?

(4) Underneath I have a lot of room and am running straight pipes with 4 cats at the moment. Instead of an expensive aftermarket, will any other exhaust bolt on?

(5) any other tips you recommend keeping in mind I have plenty of room in the motor compartment

Thank you guys ahead.
The intake manifold is designed by Porsche to maximize torque thruout the 2.7l rev range. The 3.4L 996 manifold is designed for 3.4L. .7L is a huge difference in airflow requirements. You will lose low RPM torque & if you gain any @ high rpm it will be like the valves, small. A 3.2 Box intake may help if the ports are the same size. If you can tell me the size of your 2.7's runner openings I can compare that to a extra 3.2L I have.
