911 intake on the 2.7 question custom chassis
I read some interesting post on here using the search buttons and am greatful for the brains here and the guys that think outside the box. I am a hot rod and replica builder and prefer the boxster platform for the replicas.
So the 2.7 is greatly restricted by the intake manifold. In my case I am using a 2000 2.7 motor in a CUSTOM car. I don't have any space limitations on top or sides of the engine bay. (1) That being the case, can I just straight bolt on a 996 intake/spacer manifold with its plenum and throttle body? (2) Am I limited to using the 986 maf? (3) Got tons of room for any airbox. What would you recommend? (4) Underneath I have a lot of room and am running straight pipes with 4 cats at the moment. Instead of an expensive aftermarket, will any other exhaust bolt on? (5) any other tips you recommend keeping in mind I have plenty of room in the motor compartment Thank you guys ahead. http://i5.photobucket.com/albums/y15...ps9ibgph7q.jpg |

Jack Raby had made this quote on another thread: "That 2.7 intake is killing the potential of that engine. The 2.7 intake is inadequate even for a 2.7 engine." |
It also won't bolt on.. The port spacing is different, the bolt pattern is different. The 996 uses an intermediate runner set up thats made from aluminum.
