Shifter play at transmission [Video Inside]

This topic has been covered before, but here's a fresh question...

I greased the shifter cables, which helped with shifting smoothness.
I replaced my eBay short-shifter with a 997 shifter, which helped some more and reduced shifting effort (although it did lengthen the throw noticeably).


I still get some shifter play. It seems to be at the transmission, as illustrated here: https://youtu.be/4Kt2JPdsIZo

What can I tighten, fix, replace to remove the slop?

Paul,

Looks like the right hand shift cable end or the pin it connects to is worn or loose. I fixed something similar on our Box when i had extra slop found when the trans was out.
