Hartech is well known over here in Germany. They do a lot of engine rebuilds for some german "rebuilders".

Hi Markus,
I read about Porsche engines and other expensive parts being sold to Germany from Poland. It seems the cars are stolen in Germany, dismantled quickly in Poland and then advertised on EBay in Europe. Is this just an urban myth?

Hi Gelbster,

no, that's not a myth. There are a lot of expensive cars stolen by professional and organized thiefs over here. If you want to buy parts cheap, you can get them in Poland and the Ukraine. There are well known car street markets in Poland for "used" car parts. One well kniown is in Poznań.

There are some online platforms in Poland that offer used car parts at cheap prices.

Think ebay is too "hot" for those guys.

Regards
Markus

I wonder if those "Polish" & "Ukranian" parts are ever exported to USA ? It is the biggest market

Don't know if it's worth it. You'll have a lot of transportation and customs costs to ship things to the US. Maybe. Europe and Russia is also a big market. Especially when it comes to expensive european car parts.

There is a saying over here in Germany: "Kaum gestohlen, schon in Polen".

Regards
Markus
