GT3 bumper cost?

I have an opportunity to buy a second hand OEM GT3 MK1 bumper, the seller wants $1200 and it comes without the bottom lip.

Is this an okay price? I must confirm from Porsche, but the last time I checked, the bottom lip was going to cost around the $200 mark. The last cost will be re-spraying to my colour.

Am I wasting money?

If you get to appreciate the way the bumper looks on the car then it's not a waste of money. It's all relative. As long as you like it. Some folks will spend on wheels, body kit, watches, fine wines...

I like the look but I cannot justify that amount for a bumper at this time - got 3 young kids running around the house that I need to save for so I will have to wait.

just enjoy & then you can always sell it later it you decided to move on to something else!!

I'm looking at getting a GT3 front bumper cover and it's going to cost around $1800 + freight shipping (probably around another $200). So, if you can get one for $1200, I would jump on it!

I've spotted them on eBay for half that, but they don't come up all that often for that cheap. I guess it depends on how bad you want it and how long you're willing to wait, but they can be had for less.

I was lucky to find a OEM 996 GT3 front bumper for sale on this forum two years ago. It even was painted the same color as my car ( Arctic silver ) . It had an aftermarket rubber spoiler total price was 1200.00 . I have recently replaced the rubber spoiler with a Porsche Motorsport spoiler lip and yes it was 200.00 . I really like the OEM fit and look of this front end. But be warned you will then want to do rocker covers and possibly the rear bumper......... I did

The pics I posted were with the rubber spoiler lip the previous owner had installed. But it basically just stuck down vs. protruding forward. The motorsport lip I just installed projects forward with a nice wrap around curve on the sides and ends up flush at the wheelwells. Looks much sportier and should help a little bit at high speed.

Thanks for all the advice and opinions, all good!

I have opted to go for a RSS UD pulley and IPD plenum that amounts to the same cost more or less- please comment... I figured I could live with my bumper for the time being and when I do want to do it, the one I have in mind will most likely still be for sale- we don't have much of a market in South Africa for parts like these. I also have the opportunity for my buddy to bring the mentioned parts back from the US for me, that way I save on shipping etc.
