Wet carpet behind seat

I have a 1997 RHD boxster which constantley has a wet carpet behind the drivers seat. When I pull the carpet back there is a plastic pipe which runs from the engine compartment to the underside of the drivers seat, does anyone know what this pipe is used for? Many thanks, Adam

It sounds like it's used to wet the carpet behind the drivers seat. Don't know what it's supposed to do.
