^^^ That could well be true ^^^ BUT which Pierburg version of the pump have you got in the car ??

As Gelbster says, there has been 3 substantial revisions to the Porsche branded water pump....
Pierburg could well be marketing the Mk I or MKII versions under their own banner and the latest MKIII is sold only in the Porsche packaging.....

Well that website he bought his from only gives you one option for a Boxster 986 water pump. For $255 which one do you think he got?

PUMP & HOSES for 2003 Porsche Boxster

EDIT: Can you give me a link on the MKIII water pump for a 986 Boxster. Only thing I can find pertaining to a Porsche MKIII water pump is for 2007-10 Cayennes.

I can't even find anything related to a Boxster 986 water pump using MK references.
