Exhausts with 996 3.4 motor

Those who have fitted a 3.4 motor to there boxster are you running a different exhaust system or have you just kept it near standard.

Having just installed a 3.4 to my own 2.5 Boxster, ive got them ebay headers, de-cat pipes and a Janspeed back box and just wondering if the
exhaust is up to the job, mainly because of the size of the u-bends on the standard system.

Here is a photo of my back box, it fits all 986 models

How will you install a 996 exhaust on a 986? It's a completely different system.

i think you'll be fine. the ebay headers have larger diameter piping which is where you need it. restrictions at the far end near the muffler are not as big a deal. if worried, a cayman exhaust (headers though to muffler) will bolt right in and there should be lots of take-offs floating around from guys who've upgraded their cars.

I've had mille miglia, ghl, joc cross, stock 2.5, stock S, and now i have some swedish muffler. It depends on what amount of drone you can handle. I like my car loud but i want it to sound tuned and not raspy. Supposedly the S muffler is the best performance.
