Uview Air Lift
Hi All, I am about to do a water pump, coolant flush and thermostat replacement. Is is work while buying a Uview Airlock or are there other brands that are perhaps cheaper? If so what is the best(cheapest) online shop to buy from that ships internationally as I am in South Africa. I assume 55000 is the model to go for?

I have had good success just bleeding the coolant manually. Follow the procedure in the pelican tech article, then, with the purge bail in the upright position, drive to a multi story parking lot that has steep ramps. Point the nose of the car down the ramp, stop the car and rev the motor a bit so any air in the radiators naturally moves out of the radiators.
Check the coolant level and top up.

The Uview 55000 is the unit you want, extremely well made, it will work on any water cooled engine. It is also the unit the factory and dealers use to fill your cooling system.

Thanks for all the info guys, I used my Airlift today to refill my system after a water pump and thermostat change. Wow what an awesome tool!

Very slick little gadget...
I borrowed one to refill after I did a water pump & thermostat replacement. My 30 gallon compressor had no problem drawing vacuum and the car drank in 19L of coolant in under 4 minutes.
That was something to watch.

I just received mine in the mail today. Did you everyone use the rubber piece that came on it installed already or did they use one of the other pieces?

Depends on how it came. The expansion bolt has a permanent collar which can fit inside the other appropriate adapters. I have used a regular square-cut adapter while some others have used the cone.

I slid one of the 'ring sized' adapters onto the factory installed plug.

Airlift really does make life easier. I don't see as not having fans would make any difference.

yeah I agree the airlift is the way to go. If I didn't have the airlift I would have never found out that my brand new tank had a leak.
