My 01 S muffler Tips are in need of a good polish, as I understand later models are welded on and have to be cut off. Usually when something is cut off it has to be rewelded back on, are there other options to reattach ??

Its the pre-facelift or early cars which have the S twin slash tip welded on. You can polish it up in situ though so I wouldn't bother removing it.
