iphone app to count engine ticks

Anyone know of an iphone app that can count metallic clicks and provide frequency?

I'd like to use it to confirm an engine noise to be at crankshaft rpm or camshaft
or some other frequency.

Seems like something like that could be a useful diagnosis tool

thanks,

Mike

Garage
Just record the sound with the voice recorder on the iphone, then use something simple and free like Audacity to run a FFT.

There are apps that will do a live FFT for iphone but they are paid apps :O
