Multiple cam-related fault codes
Friends, I could use some help.
I'm suddenly receiving three fault codes on my 03 986. Durametric reports this: P0346: Porsche fault code 113 - Phase sensor 2 (camshaft Hall-effect sensor 2) P0335: Porsche fault code 110 - RPM input circuit P0021: Porsche fault code 325 - Camshaft position with respect to crankshaft bank 2 I have already replaced the RPM (Reference) sensor, to no avail. The running condition appears OK, although I believe there is a slight power reduction when this intermittent problem occurs. There is no problem starting or operating otherwise. Can someone suggest the cause and solution? Many, many thanks. Ron |
Do you know the cam deviation on bank associated with the sensor 2? Can you activate that sensor with the engine at idle and if you can, does it cause the engine to feel like it is bogging down?

Here are the values that Durametric returns:
Camshaft position 2 deviation: -0.72 Actual angle for inlet camshaft bank 2: -1.19 Spec. angle for inlet camshaft bank 2: 0.00 |
I was expecting the cam deviations to be farther out. I am not sure what may be happening.

Start by diagnosing the cam position sensor. It could be as simple as a dirty/loose connector, check for voltage and check for shorts.
