Re-snorkel??

Hi Guys, I picked up this car last week, it's a 2000 with 48000 kms in excellent shape, and runs great. I've put at least 2 tanks of gas through it, and this afternoon decided to desnorkel to try and get that extra sound.
After about an hour of driving, my check engine light has come on.
Coincidence?.......
