Re-snorkel??
Hi Guys, I picked up this car last week, it's a 2000 with 48000 kms in excellent shape, and runs great. I've put at least 2 tanks of gas through it, and this afternoon decided to desnorkel to try and get that extra sound.
After about an hour of driving, my check engine light has come on. Coincidence?....... |
make sure the gas cap is on correctly and sealed. Check the seal around the inside of the gas cap and make sure it isnm't dry rotted. That will throw a light if theres no pressure in the gas tank.
Of course, the short way to troubleshoot a cel is to read the codes.
Thanks for the replies, I'll stop by my mechanic tomorrow and have them scan it.
The scan came up with faulty O2 sensor, the mechanic doesn't think the removal of the snorkel was the culprit, but he has reset the code and we'll see if it comes back.
Light came back on this morning, O2 sensor ordered. Grrrr!
Bummer about the O2 sensor... BTW did you notice much of a difference with the desnorkle?
Defenetely louder, but not the sound I'm looking for, I'm searching for an exhaust.
