Two different struts on the front

I noticed that the driver's side front has what appears to be a Bilstein strut and the passenger side appears to have the original non-Bilstein strut. The rears seem to be original non-Bilsteins. See pic of driver's front strut below (sorry it may be sideways)

Outside of the fact that this is probably not an ideal situation, can anyone describe what differences I should feel in the driving dynamics of the car? For example, would the Bilstein's cause the driver front end to be lower? I could not see the model number on the Bilstein strut, but are Bilstein's generally "shorter" in length than the normal OEM struts which may cause a difference in the alignment?
