AC foam replacement bypass

Can anybody tell me of any potential problems with doing this instead of taking dash apart and fixing flap? Here is the post. Small foam pieces blowing from vents This looks like it would work and should be easy and cheap to find a place to cut hose and install a manual valve that you switch from summer to winter.

It would be super easy to access a hose in the frunk area.
