Window doesn't go down when opening top

I just replaced one of the window regulators (had an awful grinding sound)

A neighbor of mine has been working on Porsches for about 25 years. He currently owns around 100 in various states of assembly and repair. He used to be part of tehj Porsche Motor Sports team as well.

He gave me a regulator and motor out of a 02 911 turbo that he had setup for racing.

The window does drop the 1/2 inch when opening the door and does close completely when latching the top, however it does not drop the 3 inches when lowering the top.

My old motor was good, just figured why not use a motor that almost no use as he had removed it shortly after he got the 02 911 Turbo.

anyone have any ideas to what I need to do to make the window drop?

Was the 02 911 Turbo cab?
Maybe that's the issue, it's not a cab and not same motor type.

I remebered i purchased an used motor from ebay and had the same issue, the motor was not from a Boxster/cab....
