I love the car and am now considering an extended warranty. (just in case!) I just want to get one year out of this vehicle and buy another Porsche...newer, but still a Box! You guy's got me nervous!

I think it is pretty clear that Porsche knows all about the RMS issue and how pissed we all are. I also think it is clear they will keep monkeying with the seal, not the engine, where the fix is.

Porsche should step up I agree...what are other companies doing such as BMW with their S54 engine failures?

I believe they are replacing them as reported. I will try to confirm this.

did you hear about the guy who's BMW engine detonated and he then rented a back hoe which he used to bury the car? An acquiantence ratted him out to the police who found the flattened Bimmer and sent him the $20K bill to dig up the car and now he's facing a year in jail. Cost of replacing the engine was $8K

ive never owned a fiero, but i was driving one for 10 minutes before it caught on fire.

when i was a used car salesman in college some guy traded a fiero and we gave him 1,000.00 for it. when i was driving it to a wholesaler 10 minutes away, the fire started. i pulled over and ran then called a ride.

Porsche should step-up!

Can someone confirm that there is a Porsche flat 6 that does not have this potential issue. I think I read somewhere that the 3.6L turbo engines do not suffer from RMS....true?

the 911 turbo, gt2, and gt3 do not have this problem. ask your boss for a raise.
