Light at the end of the tacho

Last night I raced against two crx, one jetta and an rsx type. But putting that aside I noticed that at the end of the tachometer there is a round piece ofwhite plastic that looks to me like some sort of light. I have never seen it come on. Does anyone know whats its purpose or what does it warn me against ?

Hi,

Yup, it's the Ambient Light Sensor. It adjusts the contrast of the LCD Displays in Daylight for better viewing. Only works with the Headlights OFF. You can manually adjust the Brightness of the Displays and Gauges with the Headlights ON by turning and holding the right-hand knob above the Tach. Hope this helps...

Happy Motoring!... Jim'99
