I have a 99 Boxster that came to me after someone else diagnosed an air/oil separator. I had my doubts, but installed it. When I went to test drive it, I found the symptoms were WAY worse than an air/oil separator would cause.
This thing, has trouble bringing up RPMs. It acts like the old days with early GM systems when you could work the throttle real fast and "skip" over the dead spot in the TPS. Engine will not rev up over 2k or so.
The only codes I have are for misfires, and it does misfire (but not excessively so), but mostly, it just falls on it's face when you push the accelerator.
I really don't have much access to Porsche info. I am a 100 miles from the nearest Porsche dealer.
Plugs? pulled a couple, nothing unique about the wear. Checked Crank sensor connector, and Cam sensor on the right bank (123).
Supposedly, there was a MAF code when it got here, but that guy is gonee, and I have not seen one since. I did run it with the MAF unhooked....NO change.
I'm buried in this thing and I want OUT!
Any input would be appreciated
I do have skype, but was not able to get it to launch so I could find my "skype" name.
Thanks, Doug
