My IMS fail story

:dance:I reported about 6 weeks ago that my IMS failed. The car puked copious amounts of Mobil One onto my garage floor. I had the car towed to Porsche. PCNA sent a rep and confirmed the IMS failure. I have a 2004 Base boxster. Porsche informed me they would replace the engine and cover 90% of the cost. Approximate out of pocket expense would be $3,000.00. I contacted the non-Porsche delaer I purchased the car from in March. I had only put 2,300 miles on it, and had 51,800 at time of failure. I gave the dealer the option to buy the car back, or pay the additional 10%. He agreed to pay the 10%. Porsche replaced the engine, and installed a new clutch. The pressure plate was not replaced. Now I have a new engine with a 2 year-no mileage limitation engine, and a new clutch. Total out of pocket from the dealer covering the 10% was $3,378.00. Total out of pocket for me? Zero. I feel much better now than I did the night this happened.
