Very important to get the proper off set. Getting it wrong can damage your wheel bearings and those things are $500 a wheel. Avoid spacers unless you go to a Porsche specialist.
My advice, stick with Porsche Factory wheels like the legendary 18" Carrera 5 spokes voted the coolest wheels ever. If you want to fill up the wheel well get some bigger rubber like 245 up front and 275 in the rear. And add some side skirting for lowered look without having to actually lower the car.

I have 19x8.5 in the Front and 19x10's in the Rear

The 19's look sick, and ride great, no complaints.

I use my 18 inch Turbo twists for Track weekends and auto crossing. The 18's handle better.

Randy, you got my email right? 9 out of 10 Porschephiles like the 18" Carrera lights. My owners manual says these are a 24lbs less than the standard 17's man! How can you to wrong with bigger and lighter. Plus, they look dead sexy....IMO. these rims are my favorite option on my car. There is no substitute for these babies!

of the Carrera 5 spokes off Ebay for under $1K; a few pounds heavier per wheel than the real ones but I'm guessing 1/2 the price.

Um, about a 1/4 of the price from the parts department, 1/2 the price from Ernie's Alloys in FL.

I'm gettin' me some of those aftermarket Carreras a couple of weeks after my birthday in March.

Those wheels always look good in the photos but look a little dated in person. They aren't a classic Porsche look like Fuchs and Carrera 5 spokes so they fall in that not really aftermarket but sorta an aftermarket look category.

as far as aftermarket My second favorite wheels are the BBS RS GT mesh wheels in Brilliant Silver. Porsche and BBS are can't lose combination. Too bad the RS GT's cost as much as my first car.
come to think of it I might like the BBS wheels more than 5 spokes, but they almost look too good, like you notice the wheels more than the car.

Y'all might find this of some interest. I swiped it from another board. The weights are in kg and the first numerical column is the total for 2 fronts and 2 rears. BTW, the weights for the Volks are exactly what I measured using a bathroom scale.

I happen to like the RS-GT's in the black chrome And yes, they are not cheap but they are almost half the price of most of the 3 piece modulars or one piece forged wheels by Kinesis, Fikse or Champion.

I REALY like the Sport Techno's on the Cayenne and I'm growing a fondness for them on the Boxster. When I get my Pepper I might just have to get matching wheels

well if you go with an 18inch rim, you would put a 18X235/35 Front and the rear would be 18X265/30. i swear the 19z would be the exact same rubber, well in a 19 inch tire. so why would it be a harsher drive. i have 19inch rims with front
19X235/35 and rear 19X275/30. i would think that the car would drive exactly the same as a 18 inch rim or a 19 inch rim. if you plan to go aftermarket, it would be dumb to go with an 18inch rim. aftermarket rims....look for light weight yes, and 19z. if i had put 18z i would of been really pissed. 19z do not take away from the look of the car. it really isn't all that bling.

19z look amazing, makes the car look real mean not pretty.............

n if you want your car to look really good, make sure you get a rim with atleast a 2inch lip....looks really good.

What size wheel do you have on your car now? If they are 16 or 17" your gonna feel a huge loss of power when you put such a heavy wheel on the car.. Remember unsprung weight (wheels/tires/brakes, suspension) it's quite critical to have lightweight components on the car for best performance.

If you notice stock we have aluminum control arms etc.. Porsche did this to decrease unsprung weight at all costs, then you ruin it with 19's from Antera. It will be along the lines of a 10-20whp loss because of all the added rotating weight. Not a good idea.

Going from a 17" 29lbs wheel to a 15" 11.5lbs racing wheel on my GTI took about 3/10ths off the car int he 1/4 from 13.5 to 13.2. Thats a lot considering the car was already going mid 13's then to low 13's just from weight on the wheels. You could expect a full half to .75 seconds slower in the quarter and say 1 second slower 0-60.

Just a guesstimate of course, but it's not gonna be pretty either way.
